Tuesday, November 15th, I went to Chepenguria with Beverly. We left Kitale early as we had an hour and a half ride ahead of us. It was not a ride that we minded though. Going into the mountains gave us a time to enjoy the natural beauty of Kenya. The coolness of driving through the forest was refreshing. We were surrounded by mountains and the wonder of God’s creation. We arrived safely in the Pokot area. Today there will be about 15 pastors meeting to study Lamentations.
Before class they tried on different reading glasses until they found a pair that helped them. When speaking it is necessary to have an interpreter to make sure they don’t miss the meaning of what is being said. Sometimes interpretation can be difficult because of words such as; anonymous and wine press. There are words that they just don’t use so they don’t understand them.
Traveling through the mountains is not the only place of beauty. I never get tired of sitting on the porch at the lodge and looking at the range of mountains on the horizon. You never know when you will see a monkey swing from tree to tree. They have even been known to run inside and steal a piece of bread. Sitting here with a cup of tea and thinking about all that God has done for me is a wonderful way to end the day.
A precious little baby girl less than a week old was left near the hospital this week. Lord help her to find the right home. Let her be loved by someone special because she is special.
Genesis 1:1, 31
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth....God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.
